Help!! My Partner Snores

Snoring Cures That Work

My Partner Snores And I Can’t Sleep

Let’s be realistic when we discuss the snoring husband, wife, girlfriend or boyfriend and paint the picture of what is really happening when we discuss snoring.

How many times have you complained to your partner about their snoring only to be met with the retort of “what about you, you snore too”. Or my favorite “I can’t help it”.  That’s it, no more conversation about the matter, it is either put up or shut up.

Well really that’s not good enough for the partner who has to listen to their partner snoring and cannot get to sleep. So what are some alternatives?

We have tried the direct approach that really ended up with our partner unwilling to discuss the matter or to try some techniques to reduce the sound of their snoring. Well if that doesn’t work, we will turn to covert actions so WE can get some sleep.

We all know that Lavender oil promotes sleep. We also know when we get a cold or flu that we use natural oils such as menthol or eucalyptus oil. These oils are designed to open the airways and clear the head so we can breath easier during congestion.

We also know that when sleeping the tongue falls backwards into the throat as the muscles relax, causing further narrowing of the airway.

Here is the plan. Buy new pillows, large fluffy ones that raise the head during sleep to encourage the tongue to resume it’s natural position in the mouth rather then falling backwards.

Introduce menthol and eucalyptus oils into the bedroom to promote a clear head and opening of the airways. Combine this with an open window for fresh air and I am sure you will find a difference in the sound level at night.

If your asked why there are oils in the bedroom you can reply by saying it encourages deep sleep by allowing us to breath deeper or perhaps you could say I want the bedroom to smell fresher.

So what you have now done is subliminally introduced a better sleeping position and oils to promote the airways to open. The end result will and should be, that your partner who snores, may still snore but their snoring will be lower and not as loud or prolonged.

The other more invasive techniques such as wearing earplugs is really one to avoid. Earplugs unfortunately with prolonged use can cause ear infections, especially if used after you have showered. Earplugs also stop you from hearing sounds during the night that you should need to hear, such as a crying child or a car crashing into your living room.

We would always recommend to try all of the less invasive techniques to reduce your partners snoring before resorting to more invasive measures. The big secret here and the one to reduce any arguments is to do this subliminally.

My Boyfriend Snores Loudly

To be able to help your boyfriend snoring loudly when he is asleep we should first look at what causes snoring so you have a better understanding of the problem.

Snoring is caused when the muscles of the soft pallet and the muscles holding the tongue in place relax during sleep. The soft pallet drops down into the throat and the tongue moves backwards causing the two pieces of tissue to come together.

This will reduce the passageway in the airway and as air passes through the passageway it causes vibrations at the back of the mouth and into the throat. These vibrations result in a noise that we refer to and know as the snore.

Contributing factors to snooring are being overweight where fatty deposits form in the throat narrowing the airway, cigarette smoking that irritates the throat membrane causing swelling and alcohol that relaxes the throat muscles deeply.

Drug use and medications relax the muscles of the body and has a profound affect on throat muscles. The relaxation of muscles in the throat causes narrowing of the airway making it difficult for air to pass by freely.

Loud snoring is basically caused by the vibrations in the throat and are resonated down into the abdomen like a big bass drum.

There are a few things that can be done to alleviate the loud snorring sound.

Firstly, open a window and allow fresh air into the room. Try not to sleep in air conditioning as this air dries out the moisture in the throat adding to the problem. Reduce alcohol and cigarettes prior to going to bed to allow the membranes of the throat to be less irritated.

Add another pillow so that your boyfriend’s head is raised higher then normal to allow the tongue to resume it’s natural position in the mouth. The raising of the head will stop the tongue from falling backwards at rest and be more forward in the mouth clearing the airway.

Talk to your boyfriend and tell him he snores loudly. Discuss ways on how you can reduce his snoring and especially what he can do to reduce his loud snoring. Perhaps a medical examination would be in order to rule out any underlying medical condition.

It might simply be a small lifestyle change such as dieting to lose that little bit extra weight. He might consider to quit smoking or drug use. Your boyfriend should commit to stop any alcohol intake some hours before going to bed.

Snoring causes you to have disturbed sleeping patterns as with each loud snore your becoming slightly awoken, not to the point of being awake, but taken out of a deep satisfying sleep to a lighter less nourishing sleep.

That is if you can get any sleep at all.

There are many things that can be done to reduce your boyfriends loud snoring and before taking any drastic action, such as leaving him or moving into another room, try the obvious causes first and help fix them up.

The alternative is surgery, invasive surgery or the use of sleeping machines, a last resort. We believe and promote a one hundred per cent natural cure to help stop snoring and suggest all avenues be explored.

So next time you say, my boyfriend snores loudly also say and we are going to do something about it together.
